Trick To Create WiFi Hotspot Using CMD

Hi Friend,
Everybody know how to create WiFi Hot Spot using mhotspot software. But Today I am going to tell you a simple trick to create WiFi Hotspot Using command prompt that does not require any software.

Following are the simple step to create WiFi Hot Spot in windows 7/8/8.1 PC or Laptop using Command Prompt (cmd):
Wifi Hotspot

Step 1: First Enable the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adaptor

  1. To Enable The Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adopter, first Press "Window Key" + "R" to open RUN dialogue.
  2. Then type "cmd" in Run dialogue box to open Command Prompt. You can also open it, by using search option of window and type cmd in that.
  3. Run the command prompt using Administrator privileges by right clicking on cmd and select Run as Administrator.
  4. After opening the command prompt, type the below command in it: 
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Hotspot key=Password 

Where:
  • SSID is the username that will show on the connection.
  • Key is the password of your WiFi Hotspot connection.
  • You can change the name of ssid and key, as you wish.

Step 2: Now to start WiFi Hotspot connection, type the below command in the command Prompt:

netsh wlan start hosted network

Step 3: Configure Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter 

  1. Go to The Network and Sharing Center, there you will see your created network. 
  2. Next go to right side and click on change adapter setting.
  3. Then click on the Ethernet and select  Properties
  4. Now there will a new dialogue box. 
  5. Then Click on Sharing and  Tick on Allow network user.
  6. Select Local Area Connection*12 which we created. 
  7. then click OK.

Step 4: Close Network Connection After use, simply open command prompt under administrator privileges and type below give command.

netsh wlan stop hostednetwork
